His subjects include many areas in the north of England (notably the Ribble Valley, the Pennines, and the Dales), Scotland (especially the Highlands), North Wales (particularly around the Lyn Peninsula) and abroad (including the Greek Islands and Spain).
Each of Dermod Ruddock's landscape paintings represents the culmination of a long process which starts with viewing a scene somewhere, and ends with that three-dimensional reality depicted in two-dimensions on a canvas or board.
